Couple weds in hospital room as groom battles cancer

The marriage vows ask couples to promise to love "in sickness and in health"?and for Lindsay and Ryan Miller, that pledge is already real. He is battling a rare and aggressive form of cancer. She is at his side.

The two tied the knot in his room at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.

The pair met in their hometown of Edgerton, Kansas. He proposed. And then in September the 28-year-old went to the doctor with a respiratory infection; he was instead diagnosed with Ewing's sarcoma, a massive tumor in the lung.

Last week, the couple, along with his family, traveled to the Texas hospital for a new chemotherapy regimen, but must face the possibility treatment may not work. So the two decided to focus on what does: their bond.

"Love never should wait. If you love somebody, be with them no matter what it takes, and that was what me and Ryan did," Lindsay, who is 19, told ABC 13.

Ryan and Lindsay married on Monday in his hospital room. She wore a veil provided by the nurses. A chaplain performed the ceremony.

"You just only live in the moment, and that moment was just absolutely amazing," the loving bride said.
